My name is Avery and I would love to speak with you. I gradated from
UC Berkeley with honors this spring and from the Institute for Civic
Leadership at Mills College in 2011. The work I did in both programs
was immersed in history. I am also a member of Phi Alpha Theta, honors
society in History. Last semester, I loved tutoring students at the
UC Berkeley Student Learning Center in writing. I met with five
students weekly. I received wonderful weekly training and feedback
from my students and from my supervisor on my attentive, useful and
stimulating tutoring practices. I am a trained peer tutor at the Mills
College Center for Academic Excellence, where I was a tutor in US
History. I am now doing English tutoring with two 6th grade students,
a high school student and giving feedback on essays for a college
student remotely. Many of our sessions are devoted to history,
culture, time and research. Looking forward to speaking soon!

Hey there! My name is Nick and I'm a double major in English Literature and
Economics at Cal. I graduated high school in 2011 with a weighted GPA of
4.51 and an unweighted GPA of 3.91. I excel in all sorts of subjects, especially
mathematics, English, and American history. I'm also a highly qualified SAT
tutor. I'm very up-to-date with the test, as I only took it two years ago. My
score breakdown is as follows: 790 in Critical Reading, 780 in Math, 710 in
Writing, 2280 Composite. I've been tutoring elementary, junior high, and high
school kids for five years now, and even after all that time, I'm hard-pressed
to call it a 'job.' Being a student myself, I know what makes kids tick. Whether
it's through humor, sports, or what have you, I can find ways to connect to
kids. And once I earn their trust, getting them interested in learning is
nothing more than a cakewalk. If you're interested, I am too. Contact me!

I mainly tutor Advanced Placement United States History
(APUSH) and Advanced Placement European History, but I can
tutor most any high school history class. I have both content
and writing expertise.
I tutor in your home, but there must be an adult present when
I am tutoring.
I have a web site:, if you need
more information.
