Thomas Stone tsttutoring[at]gmail.com 510 280 4460 ----------------------------------------------- Nov 08 2012 Tutor seeking to help kids find their highest potential! Before moving to the Bay Area this August to pursue my graduate studies in Berkeley, I served as a middle and high school teacher at an independent college preparatory school. As a class dean and student advisor I worked with students and their families to create habits and skills that were individual and comprehensive. My focus is the big picture and your student's unique gifts and challenges. I strive to spark intellectual curiosity and help students develop the tools they need to be successful long term. It is a student-centered approach that empowers kids to take ownership of, and holds them accountable for, their own learning. I also have experience and training working with ELL students. My rates are flexible (needs-based). I live on the peninsula and commute regularly to Berkeley. I'm very excited to have this opportunity to work one-on-one with your student! Gabriele Masetti masettigabriele[at]gmail.com 510-213-3170 ----------------------------------------------- Jul 27 2012 Tutoring and Educational Consulting . I earned a B.S. in Mathematics with minors in Sociology and Computer Science. I approach History from broader cause and effect perspective that ties in current events. History has meaning this way. Educational consulting includes the entire system in which a learner is immersed; school, teachers, family, IEP, academic goals, and life goals. I support the learner and his or her system of support. A student may be missing a key piece of information or a step in the process. Just as often there is an emotional component or learning strategy deficit. I use Emotional Freedom Technique? and NLP? for test anxiety, learning strategies, and self-concept as a learner.
