Check out the Point Reyes Nature Camp. It's close, the sessions are 5 or 6 days (depending on the session), the sessions are tightly grouped by age, and it offers nature exploration, crafts, and is near the ocean. My daughter has gone there for 3 years (she is now 11) and has loved it. Her more outgoing (and 18 months younger) cousin attends, too, and has also had great experiences. The camp is small, and I thought it was the perfect ''intro'' camp for a first time sleep-away camp experience. Lisa
