I would like to recommend Daniel Santos at RC Imports on Fairmount Avenue, next to El Cerrito Plaza Bart Station. Daniel is very honest and knowledgeable, and he specializes in Toyotas and other imported vehicles. His location is also very convenient for those of us who take BART into the city for work. We have a great shop that takes care of our 98 Passat wagon and I've always appreciated their style and work. The owner is very clear and patient about explaining everything that needs to be done and why. He has often told me that something doesn't need to be done right away. One time he even checked the car for me when the ''check engine'' light came on, didn't charge for the computer check and told me to go to the dealer because he felt that it was under warranty. (It wasn't, of course, according to them, but I couldn't drive it back to my mechanic,so I had to have the work done there.) I wouldn't call him inexpensive, but about average. I keep using him because he has always treated me with respect and honesty. He takes care of other foreign cars too.

We've been very happy taking our trusty little Integra to RC Imports in El Cerrito. Daniel (the owner) does a great job for us. They're located right next to the new El Cerrito Plaza mall and the El Cerrito Plaza BART station. Call them at 526-8084. Jeff

I just recommended RC Imports for Subarus and now I'll do the same for Acuras. They are great - very knowledgeable, friendly and completely trustworthy! RC Imports is on Fairmount Ave in El Cerrito (call 526-8084 for an appointment). They are located right by the El Cerrito Plaza BART station (and the #15 bus that goes to Center/Shattuck). They work on Hondas, Acuras, Toyotas and Subarus. Happy driving!

''...And he took good care of my car. It's so nice to have someone you can trust in that department! ... I'm sure a big part of his success is his attention to detail and the ability of his customers to have complete faith in him, and now that I've experienced that first-hand, I'm loathe to go elsewhere!''
