Stewart School (Pinole, CA)
Sept 2009
My husband and I and our 4-year-old son are thinking of moving to
Pinole within the year and I would appreciate any input on the
public schools there, especially the elementary schools.

I'd look at Stewart. The principal is fabulous, and it's a K-8
school, which has many advantages I think, given the junior high
school options in the district. It's very difficult to get into
Stewart in the later grades, for that reason. I've heard good
things about Ellerhorst too, and it's a nice campus. Definitely
pick a newly re-built school, since the district may close more
schools down the road, given the dire budget and the number of
small neighborhood schools generally, and would probably be less
likely to close one they recently spend a ton of money on.
