German American International School (Menlo Park, CA)

Berkeley Parents Network > Reviews > K-12 Schools > German American International School (Menlo Park, CA)

April 2013

We will be moving to Palo Alto/Menlo Park in the fall and looking for preschool/daycare for our son, who will be 3. We are looking for perspectives on the German American International School in Menlo Park (gaiss.org). I've seen several postings on GISSV, the German International School but not many on GAISS. We would also welcome any other recommendations for daycares in the Stanford area. Thank you so much! Mary

This might not be final, but there is a high probability that GAIS will lose their lease next summer (2014) and possibly close down if they do not find an alternative location. I would proceed with caution. http://www.mercurynews.com/peninsula/ci_22999231/german-american-international-school-must-leave-menlo-park German mom
The German American International School in Menlo Park is different from GISSV mainly after the Elementary school grades, in that knowledge of German language is not required to attend the school. However, the public school district wants the school back for public use and gave GAIS notice to move out. Only one year to find a new campus. A bit too unstable for my taste.
