Vovo's Childcare

June 2007

If you are looking for a grandmother that treats kids and babies like her own grandchildren, you have to contact Alia, the owner of Vovo’s Childcare (“Vovo “ means grandmother and it is the most appropriate name for this place!). Alia cooks genuine food; she plays and takes care of children like only a grandmother does, with patience and love. When I came here from Italy I saw many places in Albany and Berkeley, but none of them encouraged me to leave my daughter when she was just four months old. At the end I met Alia and I was finally ready to start to work, sure that my baby was in good hands. I do not have enough words to say how wonderful was my experience with her! She will have some openings from July. If you really want the best place for your sons do not hesitate to meet Vovo (510-5285451, she charges $10 .00 for hour with a minimum of 15 hours for week).

New Albany Daycare (Albany near Gilman)
I'm writing to recommend Vovo's Childcare. ''Vovo'' (which is Portuguese for ''grandmother'') lives in Albany on Key Route Bldvd., near the Berkeley/Gilman border. She is a wonderfully warm and loving woman. She serves hot lunches, and gives children snacks throughout the day. Her adult daughters and eldest son help her. She's very clean and safety-conscious and has a great backyard for toddlers to play in. She has a small group of children (mostly infants and toddlers) that she regularly takes care of, and has room for 1-2 more children. She charges on an hourly basis ($10.00 per hour), and has a 15-hour minimum weekly commitment. Contact: Alia, (510) 528-5451
