I want to recommend my daughter's daycare, Storybook House in Montclair. Its run by the warmest, most loving couple, and my daughter has really thrived there. She's 20 mos. old and has been there since she was about a year. They play fun games, go outside in their kid-friendly, fun yard and do crafts.
