Re: Lonely 2nd grader is the only African American in her class
Hi There!
I'm not sure if you've looked into this school but, Sheltons
Primary Education Center in Berkeley/Oakland! I have heard
GREAT things about them http://www.sheltonsprimary.net/
This is a private school with African American Teachers and African American Students. They have been around a long time and I think one of our best kept secrets. Check it out. Also a parent of children wanting Black Like Me
I am wondering if there is anyone out there who has any knowledge about this school? I have heard some REALLY wonderful things i.e. small class sizes, wonderful teachers, the children graduate and go on to do well academically, they start children at 2 1/2 and the school goes up to 5th grade, they have been around for 30 years and the tuition is reasonable.
I would like to hear any feedback good or bad about this school and, I would like to know where do the children go to school after they graduate? My husband and I are thinking of sending our child there in the Fall and I know that applications will be coming due soon. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank You in Advance, Anon
