Re: Childcare for ages *0-6 YEARS* in/near Oakland?
If you are able to travel to the Oakland Zoo area, I would highly recommend Oak Trees School. My 3 year old son has been at Oak Trees since he was 1 1/2 years old and he loves it there. The staff is fantastic....loving, fun activities, great play area & so much more. The kids at Oak Trees range from little tiny bambinos to 4 year olds. Since you have a 1 month old, I have to warn you that one of the staff members (Airiana) will love your baby to no end. While the other staff members (Carrie & Yvette) will keep your older one well occupied with great indoor/outdoor activities. Their website is Signed, Happy Satisfied Oak Trees Mom

Is there anyone out there with current or recent experience with Oak Trees School in Oakland? If so, we'd love to hear what you think of the place. Thanks! David

My son started Oak Trees 1 1/2 years ago and loves it. The setting is fantastic (play & garden areas, chickens and resident cats); and the staff is extremely nuturing. I visited no less than 8 daycares/preschools before falling in love with Oak Trees. If I had to choose again, I would not hesitate to enroll my child at Oak Trees. ~Shirley~

My son just left Oak Trees Family Daycare after several months and is moving on to preschool and I want to recommend this daycare to BPN readers. Oak Trees is a wonderfully safe, and nurturing environment located in a beautiful site across the street from the Oakland Zoo, off Golf Links. The caretaker, Susanne and her assistant, Amanda, were warm, intelligent, and dedicated to quality care for my son and they also maintained meticulous and continuous communication with me. For example, Susanne keeps a written log for each child which she sends home nightly. The home is filled with light, has well designed play areas, a gorgeous garden. My son did not want to leave most days when I came to pick him up! and that certainly says something. You can call Susanne George at 510-289-0713 Cari
