I'd like to recommend our childcare provider Carmen, who
runs a licensed home-based daycare on Cutting in the El
Cerrito hills. She is conscientious, caring, and focused on
the needs of the children. The arrangement is more like
babysitting than daycare. After a long period of full
attendance, she now has openings because a number of
children happened to graduate at the same time. She charges
$38 per day for fulltime care, and takes a max of 6 children
in her home. She currently has openings for (ambulatory)
toddlers, but not for infants. She can be reached at 510
235 0399. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
My son's home-based daycare now has openings for children under 5 year old. His friends from this daycare are leaving for pre-school. My son has been there for 1.5 years and has grown very close to Carmen who are wonderful with the children. She has over 20 years of experience.
She opens Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 6PM. She provides breakfast, lunch and snacks. She does art & crafts, book reading, games and outdoor activities (little playground in her backyard). She is also very flexible with the hours for part time or full time. And her rate is very reasonable. She is in El Cerrito, a couple blocks from Windrush school.
If you want some references, I can give you a few names and numbers from previous parents.
Please contact Carmen McDermott at 510-235-0399 if you are interested in enrolling your child at her daycare. sw.
