Kuumba Childcare has openings for children ages 2 - 5 years of age. All of their slots for children under 24 months are currently filled. I am recommending Kuumba Childcare to anyonw who may need childcare services. The owner Denise Glaude and her staff are very professional and the children are well cared for at all times. The Kuumba daycare & preschool center is a great program. My son, Bayani started when he was 1.5 years old and stayed until he started kindergarten at Franklin elementary. He learned so much from music, Spanish, reading to science and math. What I found most profound is that he was taught how to behave and be social. He was extremely shy but the program really helped bring him out of his shell. He also was potty trained there and drinking out of cups before he did so at home. Every morning they have circle time where the children come together and recite a lovely rhyme to begin their day. He also learned to clean up after himself! Love, guidance and soft discipline are essentials in this program and I learned a great deal from Denise who runs the program on child rearing techniques. She was a head start teacher for many years and she has been running the Kuumba daycare/preschool center for many years as well. They are real professionals that have a great way with children of all types.I highly recommend this program.

Kuumba Family Child Care is wonderful daycare located in North Oakland near the South Berkeley/Emeryville boarder. My son is eleven months old and Kuumba has taken wonderful care of him since he was three months old. Denise Glaude is the owner and operator for Kuumba Family Child Care. She is a credentialed pre-school teacher and former Head Start pre-school teacher for the Berkeley/Albany YMCA. Denise and her staff take very good care of my son and I feel confident in their ability to care for him. If you are looking for a fun, positive, and safe learning environment for your child, I recommend Kuumba Childcare. Their hours are Mon-Friday 7:30 am - 5:30 pm.
