Re: Home-based Spanish immersion preschools
Hi, I would like to recommend the Heavenly Touch Preschool Program in Oakland. They are a good combination of play based and structure. I know they have a specific time that they focus on Spanish during the day, but it's incorporated into their curriculum and daily interactions. It's a home based preschool program (not a daycare) ran out of the home of a Mills College, Early Education graduate. They also have music and movement everyday and a child centered curriculum. www.heavenlytouchpreschool.vpweb.com M.
This school is absolutely the best! The teacher, Kamaria is so amazing with all of the children. She is very kind and tender and encouraging; it felt like leaving my son with a family member. She teaches a curriculum that is fun and interactive which also incorporating and celebrating the children's various interests and life events.
My son came into the program with very, very basic competencies. By the end of the first month, he could spell and write his full name and by mid-November he was reading! I am constantly in awe of the education, confidence and social skills he learned from in just one short year. When it came time for his enrollment assessment for Kindergarten, the proctor was so amazed she asked for his school information to give to her daughter!
The price and program is very affordable and flexible. The location very safe, clean and close to highways 580 and 13.
If you are looking for top quality (because after all, is there any other option when you are looking to place your little angel?) this is the place to be! Ashley
Re: Montclair preschools, play-based and also structured
I would like to recommend the Heavenly Touch Preschool Program. It's a home based preschool program, run by a young lady who has an M.A. in early education from Mills College. Her emphasis is getting the kids kindergarten ready in a fun, creative environment and will serve a vegetarian lunch starting in the fall. Check it out... www.heavenlytouchpreschool.vpweb.com
Re: Bridge K/Transitional K Programs?
Hi. Please check out the website to the Heavenly Touch Preschool Program. It's a home base program, but do not be deceived by it being in home. It is far from a daycare, high quality program, ran by a young lady with her M.A. in education from Mills College. The curriculum is project based and writing, pre reading, and math are incorporated into every theme. I could go on, but you should visit for yourself. www.heavenlytouchpreschool.vpweb.com
Re: Preschool in Berkeley Hills and Piedmont
Hi, I would like to recommend the Heavenly Touch Preschool Program (non-religious) in the Glenview district. Off of HWY 13, very close to Piedmont. www.heavenlytouchpreschool.vpweb.com The teacher is great about transitions with the children, has a very calming personality, plays the guitar daily and comes up with great, creative curriculum. Hope that helps :) mn
