Sept 2013

We have had our 13-month-old daughter Georgia in daycare with Gitta since February, and we have been so happy with our choice. Gitta only takes a maximum of 4 kids at a time, so she's able to really pay attention to the children as individuals. She is warm and caring and totally enjoys being with the kids. She provides home-cooked meals and snacks, and she's easy to talk with for the parents. Her best friend runs another daycare down the block, and they often bring the kids together for trips to the playground, backyard cookouts, or time in the kiddie pool. Gitta has a giant playroom at the back of her house that is filled with toys, and the kids are often reluctant to leave at the end of the day

We highly recommend Gitta's Daycare. Our son was with her from 6mo to 2.5yrs. There were never more than 4 kids in her care at any time. Gitta is very loving, and we were so happy to have her caring for our son. Your baby will be given lots of affection and adored and appreciated. Gitta is very kind and has a huge heart, and the kids always behave so well with her. She's always cheerful, and just loves to have fun with the kids. They go out often on trips to different parks, and sometimes take special trips like going to the beach at Del Valle (a ways off, but worth the drive!), or Alameda. She cooks great food for the kids, and there's another daycare down the street where the kids often get together and play. When my son started, he was breastfed and wouldn't take the bottle, and didn't have a structured nap. This was no problem for Gitta. She spoon fed him my milk with a little oatmeal or rice cereal and got him napping on sched. She held him a LOT in the first months, and then gave plenty of hugs once he started running around. Also, she posts lots of pics to FB so you get to see all the fun the kids are having while you are at work. I am so appreciative of all she did for our family and our wonderful son. Recommended unreservedly!! Contact her at

Our oldest son has been with Gitta since December 2008 (16 mo old)and is now "graduating" to preschool at 3 years old. We can't say enough how much we have appreciated and loved Gitta over the years, and are lucky enough to continue having her in our family since she will be caring for our second son (4 mo old).Gitta has an incredible sense of humor, playfulness, and love that radiates making her an incredible caregiver for our sons. She adores children and because of her experience and innate abilities, provides an incredible environment for learning and growing. She cooks nutritious hot meals, offers opportunities for sensory experiences, teaches songs, letters, and numbers during circle times, and fosters social skills among the children. He frequently brings home lovely arts and crafts projects. Our son has become a gentle, joyous and fun-loving little boy in Gitta's care. It can be tough getting him to leave at the end of the day! We highly recommend Gitta's Daycare. We trust her explicitly with the care of our little boys and hope she is a part of our lives for many, many years to come! Contact Gitta at

My son's daycare has an opening (Maxwell Park, Oakland)
My son's small daycare has an opening for a child ~ 18 months old. Gita is a caring and gentle caregiver for our son and we are so glad we found her! She cooks healthy meals and takes the kids on outings. She cares for the small group (4) in her large warm home. We can't recommend her enough. Our son has learned so much language and play skills while he's been there. She is Swedish and speaks Swedish and English throughout the day. Contact me if you would like her information.
