Re: Ecole Bilingue de Berkeley
Have you considered French for Fun in Lafayette
(www.frenchforfun.com)? My child has been enrolled there for
the past 3 years and has speaks decent French now even though
we are an English-only home. The director and all the
instructors there are native French speakers, have degrees in
education and use the Montessori method of instruction. The
program focuses on French culture, as well as teaching basic
academics -- all in French! It's a full immersion program
(i.e., no English is spoken), and it really works. The tuition
is steep, the approach is very academic, and the behavioral
expectations are somewhat ''French'', so it's not for everyone,
but it's worth checking out as an option to EB. Also, I
believe EB thinks highly of the language instruction FFF
provides and this may be an advantage in your EB application.
Bonne chance!
