Marcela has been caring for my 2-year old since he was 3 months. He doesn't mind being dropped off because he gets to feed the rabbits. After his healthy breakfast he's busy outside pushing toys and sliding and trying to ride tricycles. Quiet transition times include yoga and soft music, number games, and homemade, organic lunch. And dancing! Lots of dancing!
Nap time and snack, more outdoor play or indoor games, depending on weather and children's moods. Time to go home? No way! My son loves it at Flor's and would rather me sit there all evening and watch him play in the ball pit or do puzzles.
It's a wonderful, safe, and fun daycare, and the owner is a warm and loving woman who adores her charges. She specializes in infants and toddlers. Her toy selection is inspiring, full of great learning and developmental activities. She keeps her space super clean. And the children are happy and healthy under her care. I highly recommend the daycare. Feel free to contact me with questions. Warmly, Jen.
I am recommending Flor Family Daycare in Richmond for your baby to 3-year old. We have been sending our baby boy to Marcela Yabe for the past year and have been very happy with the daycare. He started going there at 6 months and is now 18 months old.
Marcela and her family are all very sweet, welcoming, and loving to the children in their care. The daycare is set up out of their home, is safe, with lots of age- appropriate toys, and a large, private outside play area in the back.
Marcela cooks all the organic food for the children herself. She enjoys introducing them to new foods and trying new activities with them. She is a Pediatrician in Peru, so I know my son is being taken care of very well. Marcela loves the children she takes care of as if they were her very own.
Good luck in your search. I know you if you choose Flor Family Daycare you will be happy you did. Adina

If you are looking for child care for your infant or toddler and live or work in the Richmond/Pinole/Hercules/El Sobrante/San Pablo area I recommend you look in to Flor Family Day Care. We have been sending our now 14 month old daughter there since she was about six months old. The day care is run by a lovely woman named Marcela Yabe. Marcela truly LOVES children and has put a lot of thought into the environment she has created for the children as well as the daily schedule. She is very calm and gentle with the kids, feeds them wonderful homemade, organic baby food, and has nice indoor and outdoor spaces for the kids to play in. She has lots of great, age-appropriate toys for the kids and makes music and outdoor time an important part of each day.
We also love that Marcela limits enrollment to no more than
four children at a time (even though she is licensed for
more), so the kids get a lot of one-on-one attention. It
feels like a nanny share situation but with day care prices!

My young man goes to Flor's Family Daycare in San Pablo/Richmond. Flor is an absoulte gem! We love her! My son has been there since he was 3 months old, and has a great relationship with her and her family. She takes such loving care of him, making him fresh, organic food, singing with him, giving massages, and pushing him around in his favorite car in the backyard all day long. She is very patient and talented in building a consistent routine of naps, snacks, meals, and playtime. And she's so great at teaching him motor skills! He is always well ahead of his age in mobility and dexterity, due in large part to Flor always taking the time to work with him and teach him. It's always difficult to leave your baby with someone else while you go to work, but I feel very happy to have found this wonderful little daycare. It's such a happy place. Feel free to contact me regarding the daycare. I know she has spaces available. Warmly, Jen
