I would like to recommend Eliane Pires DaSilva and Maria Costa's day-care on Colusa Avenue, El Cerrito. Eliane just merged her daycare with Maria last month. She's a fantastic carer and is a very compassionate and sensitive person. She took care of my 2 daughters from the time they were born until they were 3.5 years old. They are now 4 and 7. I trusted her 100% all those years with my children and she's been like another mom for them. She loves children, is very patient and calm, and provides a loving atmosphere for the little ones. My children as well as the other children at her daycare loved her and still do. She cooks delicious meals, which my kids liked more than my cooking. Eliane always has a smile and a positive attitude as well. I became friends with her over the years and highly recommend her to anybody who is looking for that special person they can leave their child with and not turn back.

I strongly recommend my son's daycare in El Cerrito (on the edge of Albany) to any parents that are looking for a safe, reliable, ''home away from home'' for their child. My toddler is now about to turn 2, but he has been going to Maria since he was 6th months old. Maria is like a second mom to him. It is a stimulating learning environment with healthy, home-made meals provided. Maria has an amazing relationship with each of the children and their parents. My son looks forward to going to her each day.

My son is now 3 and started with Maria at only 6 months old and has really become a second mother for him. Maria has created a wonderful environment for the children in her care and loves them like they are her own. She is very reasonable on price, flexible, accommodating and includes wonderful healthy meals. Even though English is her 2nd language, my son has learned so much from her (and I her).

It breaks my heart to take Evan out of Maria's care but we are making a move and with Maria's help he is now ready for preschool. Maria provides a warm, loving, educational environment and has become a part of our family. You will be more than pleased to place your child in her care. tisa
