There are four Waldorf preschools in the East Bay area that I know of.Two in Berkeley, one in El Cerrito, and one in El Sobrante. My daughter goes to A Child's Nest in El Cerrito. Typically Waldorf education outside the home without parent starts at three years of age. Most Waldorf preschools don't take children younger. It is part of the philosophy. The closest Waldorf School K-12 grade is the East Bay Waldorf School. They should have a complete list of all the Waldorf preschools in the area, and they can tell you all about the Young Child Group. Call them at (510)223-3570 http://www.eastbaywaldorf.org/ If you want to know more specifics about some of the preschools, you can contact me directly. Laurey
A Child's Nest (528-8120), if you haven't checked it out, is in El Cerrito just above Berkeley. The school may be closed next year, but see if someone else may be taking over in some fashion or if it will recommence the following year. nmhudson
