Richmond Swim Center
The Richmond Swim Center, operated by the City of Richmond, is located at South 45th and Cutting next to Kennedy High School. See also: Richmond Plunge
Re: Pool for handicapped woman (Jan 2005)
The Richmond Swim Center, at Kennedy High School on Cutting
Blvd. in Richmond, has wheelchair access to their pool. They
also have drop-in swim hours. What I'm not sure of is whether
those two things ever happen at the same time, or if the
wheelchair access is only for appointments (physical
therapy?). You could give them a call, though: 620-6654.
Re: Private lessons for 3-year-old (Feb 2004)
The Richmond Swim Center has small group and private lessons for
3 year olds. Parents sit on the bleachers and cheer on the
kids. Fun for all and reasonably priced.

Re: Pool near Albany for recreational swimming (March 2003)
I swim laps at the new Richmond Swim Center, located next
to Kennedy High School on Cutting Blvd., about 1/2 mile
west of the El Cerrito Del Norte BART station. The indoor
pool has a large, shallow section, and they're open for
family swim times on Wed., Sat., and Sun. from 11 a.m. to
12:30 p.m. and for Recreational Swim on Sat. and Sun. from
1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The pool is heated to about 85 degrees F
(quite comfortable), and they only charge $2.75 for adults
and $1.00 for kids for Family Swim and Recreational Swim.
Also, they offer swim lessons for kids ages 5 to 17 on Tues.
and Thurs.; the fee is $20 for six lessons. I've seen bits of
swim lessons while swimming my laps, and the teachers
seem really great.
Call 620-6654 for further info, and also be sure to go by and
check out the pool! Good luck --

Re: Pool near Albany for recreational swimming (March 2003)
I think the Richmond Swim Center, Cutting and 45th st., would be
what you are looking for. It is new and very nice. The outdoor
pool, which will open in the summer, is pretty small but is not
a baby pool. The indoor pool is open year-round, is warm, is
not too deep and is not too crowded. Family time is 11:00 am -
12:30 on weekends. Cost is 2.75 for adults and 1.00 for kids.
Lessons, which we haven't tried yet, are very reasonably priced.
