I have seen a Urogynecology specialist at Stanford Hospital for Urinary stress Incontinence issues and have been advised to undergo surgery ( Sparc Sling, Cystoscopy).However the doctor doesn't have any appointments until September and I would like to get the surgery done ASAP due to various reasons. Could someone please recommend a Urogynecologist in or around Fremont ( preferably ) or as far out as Oakland , Palo Alto, San Ramon, Walnut creek ? I would also love to hear from someone who has undergone surgery for urinary stress incontinence issues to know their experience with the surgery and their opinions. Thanks in Advance, Anon

Eugene Kaplan in Walnut Creek. Fantastic surgeon. I underwent pelvic reconstruction for several issues including urinary incontinence. He was recommended by three different physicians I consulted prior to the surgery, because he's outstanding. Runs a solo practice with the kind of personalized attention you want from a surgeon with excellent followup. He does a newer sling with post-op adjustability that has better outcomes than traditional slings. Best wishes. Wendy

I'm looking for recommendations for local uro-gynecologists, but I'm having trouble finding any recommendations. Has anyone worked with one that they liked? Aetna PPO insurance acceptance would be a plus; also I would prefer a female doctor if possible. Thank you! Anon

Dr. Sharon Knight at UCSF is terrific. I don't think you could find a more knowledgeable uro-gynecologist. She is extremely professional and I found her to be very, very thoughtful about the medical issues I was facing when I saw her. She asked me questions other doctors hadn't thought to ask, and offered treatment options other doctors hadn't presented.
