Can anyone recommend a fantastic pediatric dentist in Alameda
or near? I have read the reviews on the site and was just
wondering if there are any more recent ones. Thank you.

There is a fantastic practice devoted to pediatric dentistry
right near South Shore Center (between the Safeway and Office
Max). The main dentist's name is David Perry, and he and his
staff are friendly and great with kids. Their whole suite is
set up for children, with play environments for the kids to
enjoy while they're waiting for their turn. The phone # is 521-
5016.

We take our son to David Perry at Alameda Pediatric Dentistry.
He's great and so is his staff. His number is (510) 521-5016.

My son looks forward to going to Dr. Perry located near
southshore center for two years now. He's five and the video
games are a big attaction. I think their office is well run and
Dr. Perry and his associates are nice.

I recommend Dr. Tonsberg in Alameda on Santa Clara Ave. He is
great and his office is well run. I especially like Deborah, one
of the hygentists there. He takes Delta dentist. I believe he
does pediatrics but I take my son (who is five now) to Dr. Perry
down near Safeway in southshore shopping center. His practice
is entirely for kids and the set up is pretty amazing and Dr.
Perry is great.

For the Oakland woman looking for a good dentist, I would like
to recommend Carla Dodge, DDS, in Alameda, # 521-0588. I have
never met a dentist who I thought so highly of. I found her to
be extremely professional and kind and very thorough. Unlike
other dentists I have had, she spends a lot of time during her
examination and is gentle. I think she is someone you could be
open with about your fear of dentists and she would do
everything she could to make you comfortable. All of the staff
are very professional and friendly as well. I haven't lived in
Alameda in a few years, but I still make the drive just for this
dentist. Best of luck.

I recommend Dr. Douglas Mitchell in Alameda (510) 865-
4551. He is very skilled and a really nice guy. His hygenists
are also very good.

Hi, does anyone have any recommendations for a family dentist
in Alameda? I recently switched to Delta Dental and I'd like
to find a good local practice that my daughter (16 mos.) will
eventually go to as well.
I highly recommend Dr. Andrew Rowe on Santa Clara Ave. in
Alameda. Our family has been going there for almost 10 years
(and we don't even live in Alameda anymore!). Dr. Rowe is an
excellent dentist and very friendly. His front desk staff is
wonderful and his wife, Anita Young, is also a great hygienist.

Carla Dodge is the Alameda dentist my boyfriend uses. He's happy
with her.

I highly recommend Dr. Corazon Manaloto. She took over the
practice of my retiring dentist and has really modernized the
practice. My mom, brother, husband, three-year-old daughter and
I all go to her. She is not a ''pediatric'' dentist, per se.
However, she is incredibly kind and gentle and gave my daughter
a filling without any of the horrible sedation I hear about, or,
believe it or not, any novacaine! My daughter came out all
smiles! (Don't be alarmed, the cavity wasn't very deep,
therefore, no need for novacaine.) I have Delta Dental and have
never had to pay a dime, not copay, not anything.
She is at 2215 Santa Clara and the phone is 521.0420.

Dr. Denise Bass Allen is very close to Alameda, in downtown
Oakland near Broadway & 20th.

for the rest of this review.)
When we lived in Alameda we went to Dr. David Jalen. His office
is in the medical/dental office buliding on the corner of the
Southshore Mall near all the nursing homes. We didn't have kids
at the time, but be was recommended to us by the orthodontist in
the same building so I know he works with kids too. He takes
Delta.
By the way... I'd avoid Dr. Eischeid. I used him once.
He took care of a cavitiy for me as part of my
initial visit, but filled it wrong. While he was doing that
filing, he kept pushing me to have all of my silver filings
replaced even though they are still in good shape. Oh yeah, and
he decided I have TMJ and need to see and herbalist to fix it. I
didn't go back.

I just came back from a dentist that I was referred to by Dr.
Wampler. His name is Dr. Perry in Alameda. I was hoping
someone had some additional recommendations for Dr. Perry and
specifically in doing work with general anastesia with young
children. Did you have any good/bad interaction with him or his
practices with the young children? Did he seem knowledgable in
the area?
Kristi
You are fortunate to have been given a recommendation for your
child to visit with Dr. Perry. My son has been seeing Dr. Perry
for about 6 years now, he was the first dentist he ever visited
with. I can only say good things about him and his practice. He
is thoughtful, skilled and unbelievably great with children and
their parents. Since we have experienced his care and expertise
it is impossible for us to consider going elsewhere. I am so
pleased we found him! We know many children who have grown up
with Dr. Perry as their dentist and they are all smiles. He is
an exceptional dentist. He has always been honest and
straightforward with us. I have always been pleased with the
work he has done. I also appreciate the open floor plan of his
practice it helps to put everyone at ease. He is a very, very
good pediatric dentist. Thanks to him my son has happy memories
of his visits to the dentist, he even wrote a little book about
it.

I took my 4-year-old son to Dr. Perry just two weeks ago, and
thought the whole experience was terrific. He had only been to
the dentist once before, and was a little hesitant, but Dr. Perry
made him feel very comfortable. Throughout his exam, x-rays and
cleaning, he was treated very gently. As we left the office, he
asked when he could come back. I will definitely see Dr. Perry
for my future pediatric dentistry needs.
