There are two Dentists in Piedmont that I would trust w/ my
life! The office name is Piedmont Dental by Design, the
dentists are Dr. Dale Herrero & Dr. Jill Martenson. Two of the
most brilliant, gentle & artistic dentists I've ever seen. I
have two friends that are also patients there, one had a full
mouth reconstruction done by Dr. Herrero including dental
implants " porcelain veneers. Dr. Herrero has apparently been
placing implants for over 30 years, was one of the first in
this area to start placing them. He is a fellow & honored
member of the top implant groups in the country! I've seen his
surgical set-up and I swear, he is more sterile than a
hospital! what a genius! Dr. Martensen also does implant work &
placed a few on my husband (which we've had absolutely Zero
problems w/) I was most impressed by a smile she gave another
good friend of mine who recently appeared on the home & garden
channel. What a difference. People who were naturally blessed
w/ beautiful smiles just don't realize what a difference it can

It's not cheap, but I have gone to numerous hygienists/dentists in New York City, and the Bay Area, and so far, this is one of the best practices I've encountered. With such sensitve gums, I would almost encourage your husband to seek dental consultation. (not to say that there's something wrong for sure)
In our experience, the cleanings are so thorough, they take digital pictures before and after the cleaning to show you what work they've done to remove plaque and for appropriate cleaning!
I give her practice a A++! Never before have I seen a dental office where the staff is so available and willing to help.
