I highly recommend Peter Heckler. I too was looking for a dentist in Orinda (we moved here two years ago and wanted someone local). I tried another dentist first (Steven Russell - the Butterfly Dentist)- but found the experience unsatisfactory for several reasons (one reason was having to wait 30+ minutes before both appointments). Dr. Heckler came recommended by a fellow parent at my daughters preschool. I called the office and the woman who answered the phone took her time answering all my questions about the practice. When I arrived for my appointment I waited only 2 minutes. My second appointment I didn't wait at all. I had a root canal and a new crown. It was painless and easy. I have been going to Peter Heckler for the last few years after he took over from Ralph Crabtree who had been my dentist for over twenty years & who I adored. I figured Dr. Crabtree would not sell his practice to anyone but the best, so I've stayed with the practice & have not been disappointed. Dr. Heckler is great, very calm & pleasant, does excellent work, easy to get an appointment with, and all the staff are friendly and efficient. I highly recommend him. anon
