I recommend Howard Endo, on Ashby in Berkeley (takes Delta Dental). I have had dental problems since a child and absolutely hate hate hate going to the dentist. Dr. Endo always puts me at ease and has always given me straightforward non-judgmental evaluation and prognosis. I had a ginormous filling replaced and a crown and he did very good work. I had to get a root canal and he also hooked me up with an *excellent* endodontist (Anderson) who did a beautiful job on a tricky tooth. Endo is not particularly talkative, but he's very kind and his manner instills confidence. He was recommended to me by someone who had a mouthful of rotten teeth (grew up in Europe with no dental care) and she swore by him. anon
