Re: Good dentist who accepts Delta Dental
The only decent East Bay dental practice we found that accepts our Delta insurance is Bay Area Dental, Ivleta Spunde, DDS, in old town, Oakland. We researched dentists who accept DeltaCare USA, which is the self-insure plan from Delta. The list of dentists who accept that is smaller than the list who accept regular Delta, so you may have more choices than we did.

We switched from Blue Cross/Anthem self insure dental plan because none of the East Bay dentists on their list were acceptable. I then checked on Yelp and this list and Googled for reviews of every other dentist on the Anthem list. Either there were no reviews or they were bad for every single one. So we found that Delta included on their list Dr. Spunde, who had good reviews, and Delta was not more expensive, so we switched.

So far so good. She is intelligent, pleasant and professional and so far seems competent; the office is well maintained and the equipment up to date; and the front office staff are exceedlingly helpful, friendly and more than competent with billing and scheduling. Our son hasn't turned two yet, so he hasn't been seen, but the front office staff have young children and have offered helpful tips about toddlers and brushing. I will be taking him in June.
