Young Peoples' Chamber Orchestra

February 2003

Young Peoples' Chamber Orchestra is a strings only orchestra for young musicians, ages 10 to 14. We also have a preparatory ensemble for younger, less experienced musicians. Our musicians come from all over the Bay Area. The main orchestra meets Saturday mornings from 10:00 to 12:00, with small chamber ensembles meeting for an additional hour (9:00 to 10:00 or 12:00 to 1:00). We rehearse at St. John's Presbyterian Church on College Avenue. YPCO's conductor, Rem Djemilev, is a member of the Arlekin String Quartet, an instructor at the Crowden School in Berkeley, and the Marin Academy. He also conducts the Young Performer's String Orchestra, and the Diablo Regional Youth Orchestra in Walnut Creek, and plays in many chamber groups and orchestras in the Bay Area. We hold auditions in April/May for the following school year. For further information, please call or e-mail:
