My 12 year old want to learn to speak Thai. Any ideas
for a class or private instruction?

To the parent looking for Thai Classes:
How much depth do you want? The Thai temple in Berkeley on Russell off MLK
has Thai classes for children and adults. The fees are quite reasonable.
They also
have a wonderful Sunday morning market and you can get a feast and pretend
your in a Thai market for the morning. My kids used to go to the Sunday
morning
kids program and I'd take a newspaper and order some breakfast and just
SMELL the wonderful aromas. Good luck! Lisa
Wat Mongkolratanaram (the Thai temple) next to the Berkeley South Library
on Russell Street has on-going language classes. Phone is 849-3914, but
your best bet is to visit during Sunday lunch (they start serving around 10
or 10:30, every Sunday, rain or shine) and speak to someone. If you like
Thai food, you'll love the lunch.
