I have looked on the BP website to see if particular teachers at the Yoga
Room were recommended but found none (except for pre-natal yoga classes). I
would love to hear any feedback on the following yoga instructors at the Yoga Room: Linda Burnham, Donald Moyer, Mary Lou Weprin, Jill davey, Shair Ser or Deirdre Carrigan. I am probably a Level 2 yoga student and would love to know if anyone has any personal experience with any of these people. Thank you in advance,
Tabitha
Years ago I studied Yoga with MaryLou Weprin at the Yoga Room. She was
fabulous. I quickly went from level 1 to level 2 and advanced from there.
Eventually I went twice per week and then she started training me and another woman to assist her in the beginning class which I think I did for a few months. I don't remember why I stopped. It was great. I don't know the other teachers but MaryLou knew exactly the right positioning for the asanas. She was patient and fun to take a class with. I keep saying I'll go back but it's not a convenient location anymore (I live in East Richmond) and the years keep passing.

RE: Yoga Room Teachers - I am finishing my second series with Yoga teacher
Jill Davey and I highly recommend her. She is very knowledgable and has
postive energy which just makes you feel great after a class

I have been taking Shari Ser's beginning class for quite a while now. I can't recommend her HIGHLY enough. She is a physical therapist and has vast
knowledge of anatomy. Even though I have a serious back injury I am able to
fully participate in the class. She is very attentive to every student and
recommends modifications based on each person's individual needs. In addition, the class is very challenging and hard work! So, it's the best of both worlds; vigorous and safe.

Donald Moyer and Mary Lou Weprin are co-directors of the Yoga Room and are
both excellent teachers. Their styles are different so try each one. They
have trained many yoga teachers including myself.

The Yoga Room was recommended to me by a very good Iyengar instructor in
San Francisco. I haven't checked it out yet, but the instructor who
recommended it is the best I've ever studied with, so it's an opinion I
trust. The phone number is 233-8470 and the location is 2640 College
Avenue in the Julia Morgan Center.
Re: Prenatal Yoga (1999)
I took pre-natal yoga from Barbara Papini at the Yoga Room (I think
that's what it's called). She teaches on Mondays on Piedmont Ave.
from 5:45-7 pm, and on Thursdays at the Julia Morgan Center on College
Ave, same time I think. She was great, and I went religiously
once/week. It always made me feel "not pregnant". Now that I have a
nine month old, I really wish I was still doing it, because I definately
feel it in my body!
