Where to Donate Fabric
Nov 2008
Is there some place that accepts donations of fabric? After years
of sewing, I have yards of many kinds of fabric I know I won't
use, and I'd like to give them a chance to be used by someone.

Children's Hospital Oakland receives sewn items (blankets, wheelchair
bags, dolls, etc) from the Rossmoor Stitchers (from the retirement
community) in Walnut Creek. I am sure they would appreciate any
fabric they could get.
hope this helps
If the fabric is 100% cotton, the East Bay Heritage Quilters will
take it. I'm pretty sure they use it in the Children's Quilt project,
which is coordinated by Deanna Davis. If,
for some reason, you are unable to reach Deanna, call New Pieces in
Berkeley. All the people who work there are active in the guild and
would be happy to find a home for your fabric.
