The Berkeley Parents Network is a moderated, parent-run email forum for parents who live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Subscribers receive 10 email newsletters a week (view list). For more information about the BPN see our Help Pages.

Requirements for Subscribing: To join the Berkeley Parents Network, you must be: 1) a parent or parent-to-be, or working with children or child/parenting issues, and 2) living in the San Francisco Bay Area or planning a move here. (See Who can join the list? for details.) There is no fee to join.

If you'd like to briefly introduce yourself to other members, please use the space below. (max 100 characters)

Privacy note: We do not use any of the information above for anything except for a one-time announcement in the "Welcome New Members" section of our weekly Announcements newsletter, which is emailed only to other subscribing parents. We'll include your name, neighborhood, kids' ages, and introduction (not your email address). We need your email address in order to mail newsletters to you, but we don't use any other info you give us for anything but the one-time announcement. We never give away or sell or reveal names or email addresses or any other personal information for any other reason. Please see our Privacy Policy for details. The Welcome section includes about 100 new members' names each week, but if you don't want to be included, you can request that in the Comments section below.

Any other comments are welcome. They will not be included in the announcement.

A volunteer reviews all "join" requests, so it may be a few days before you are added to the list and can post a message. If more than a week goes by, please send us an email.

* Note: BPN's mission is to provide a forum for discussions about parenting and raising children in the SF Bay area. We welcome anyone who wants to network with us about children, including grandparents and other family members caring for children, as well as professionals who work with children or with childrens' issues. However, we are a volunteer-run organization, so we do not have the resources to subscribe other members of our community, or parents who live outside the Bay Area.
