I don't watch a lot of TV because I just don't have the time. I've
seen plenty of good stuff on TV over the years, and I'm sure there are
quality programs on now that I am missing. But I can't let the TV
discussion pass by without saying that Fox TV's "The Simpsons" and
"Malcolm in the Middle" (both on Sunday Night) are, as far as I am
concerned, among the highest forms of popular art available on TV or
any other medium. No kidding, if you have not seen Malcolm, you are
missing out on some of the most brilliant comic writing of our day.
And the Simpsons is simply an icon -- still as clever and funny as it
was 10 years ago. Both these shows have appeal for all ages, and
watching them with the teens is one of the few activities that we all
equally enjoy. There is nothing like sharing a laugh with an
otherwise surly teenager! If you have a shortage of laughter in your
house (and who ever has enough?), I highly recommend Channel 2 on
Sunday nights.
