I highly recommend Kinuko's beauty creation in Alameda on Park Street. It is run by Kinuko and her brother Yoshi. They are Japanese and were fully trained in Japan; ie knows how different technique is required to cut Asian hair. I've been their client for 9 years and even though I moved from Alameda to Union City, Newark, Palo Alto, San Diego, and back to Orinda, I remained their faithful client because I couldn't simply find anyone better! The only downside is it's very difficult to get an appointment on the weekend unless you book in advance because many of their current clients always make their next appointment. Weekdays are not bad. shiho
