Back to Advice about Babies

April 1999

My husband and I have been looking after our 7 1/2 months old boy ourselves since he was born. Recently, my mother came over to help looking after our son. But the baby immediately caught on the fact that the stranger(Granny) was to be his babysitter and refused to go to my mother for a minute, even though he loves playing games with Granny as long as his parents are with him. Now he wants us to be within arm's reach all the time. Any advice on how to help our baby overcome this anxiety so he would eventually warm up to kind grandparents who like to look after him and maybe to daycare center when he is older?
